John Goodman Diet and Exercise Weight Loss
ByJohn Goodman is now talking about his weight loss. Diet and exercise is what helped John Goodman drop approximately 200 pounds.
The 47 year old co-star of the hit 90’s show Roseanne was pushing 400 pounds when he started his diet and exercise program that changed his life for the better. John Goodman appeared on the David Letterman late show Wednesday June 16th.
Goodman said his recent weight loss is like “night and day” in regards to how he feels. The 6-foot-2 Goodman said his weight gain was mostly attributed to the lifestyle he led surrounding the 90′s hit show that made him famous – Roseanne.
Back in 2005, Goodman was warned by his doctors that he had to lose weight or he would die but he continued his lifestyle and he would gain back any weight lost in a vicious cycle. Although doctors were telling him to lose weight, Goodman’s friends and family never spoke of concerns that his weight was an issue.
“I’d get off of ‘Roseanne’ every spring,” Goodman told Letterman. “I’d lose 60 pounds every spring. Then I got too fond of the Barleycorn… I’d gain it back and then some, every year,” he said of his ten-plus year battle with obesity.
“I’m getting a lot of exercise, I feel good,” Goodman said of his weight loss strategy. He added that while he has more weight to lose he doesn’t expect to lose the weight overnight.
“It’s going to be an ongoing process for the rest of my life,” he said. He also mentioned that while he didn’t have a target weight, he is monitoring his body fat content and looking to achieve the “healthy” status percentage for his height and age.
John Goodman isn’t giving an exact number of how much weight loss he endured, sources say it was over 200 pounds and was done via “diet and exercise”.
