Reducing belly fat and getting a nice set of abs takes a nutritious diet and a fitness workout program. There are so many differences in opinion on how to obtain a flat belly. With all the useless abs contraptions on the market it is easy to get confused on what works.

I want to clear a few things up for you and put a new train of thought in your mind. First and foremost clear your mind of anything you have ever heard about losing stomach fat and gaining a tone tummy. Forget about the infomercials you see late at night with some sort of six-pack abs producing gimmick. Forget about the crazy fad diets that guarantee belly fat loss by popping some pill. Most people waste anywhere from 15-30 minutes of their workout on crunches, leg raises, sit-ups and there abs focused exercises. Instead of wasting time on abs specific exercises focus your effort on full body exercises. Full body exercises will give you a better fat-burning workout, burn more calories, boost your metabolism, tone your body, and indirectly workout your abs.

Full body exercises such as lunges, upper body presses and pulls, dumbbell swings, squats among others will have a greater impact on your overall home fitness workout then useless abs contraptions or crunches. Try doing front squats in your next home fitness workout routine. If you do it right you will feel it in your abs the next day.

Now let’s look at the diet portion. Once again too much information out there and that makes it difficult to know what to do. Don’t fall for the fad diets it is really simple. Don’t cut out just limit processed foods, sodas, fried foods. You can still have them just not all the time. Instead choose whole unprocessed organic foods, high nutrient density foods, fruits and vegetables, high quality protein, and high fiber foods (help with appetite control). It is also good to have healthy fat found in nuts, wild fish, olive oils, avocados and various other foods.

Once you start eating the foods above other things just fall into place, your cravings for junk food and sweets will dissipate since you body will have the proper nutrients it needs to balance the hormone levels.
