What are people saying:

1. I won’t get sick of this diet. (I’m certainly not) – though I admit at times I want chocolate or ice-cream or something, but the author promises by stage 4, I can have some of my treats again on occasion.
2. I won’t be left hungry. (this is very true)
3. I will lose 1-2 pounds a day immediately: very true, and I will elaborate.

I’m a 5’8” male, age 31. The last couple of years I crept up over the 200 lb mark, and I really feel I should be around 160. I weighed in at the doctors office two weeks ago at 212lb! The book had arrived, we (my wife and I) were just going to enjoy Christmas and New Years Eve without being on the diet.
I have weighed myself every day (except the first day) of the diet, at the same time, before breakfast for consistent results.
Day 2, I weighed in at 204-point-something. I feel it is right for me to assume I was AT LEAST 206 on day one – though I wish I had weighed in for accuracy.
I am writing this at work, and my results are at home, but every day showed a weight loss, most days were at least one pound. There were two days of just under a pound. Read the Full Review

The 17 day diet was created by Dr. Mike Moreno to help shed holiday pounds. There are four cycles:
Cycle 1: Accelerate. Encourages rapid weight loss, cleansing and fat burning. Discourages fat storage.
Cycle 2: Activate. Resets the metabolism.
Cycle 3: Achieve. Develop good eating habits, re-teach yourself how to eat carbs.
Cycle 4: Arrive. A combination of the first three Cycles. On weekends, enjoy your favorite foods.
Dr. Moreno claims in the first 17 days you loose about 10 pounds since one is not “on” sugar, drinking more water, and eating fewer carbs.
On the First Cycle Overview:

You can eat all you want of certain lean proteins, they’re referred to as “freebies”
2 servings a day of a probiotic choice
No other dairy except fat free cheese, fat free sour cream as condiments and in moderation.
Vegetables are limited to certain “Cleansing Vegetables” but are also “freebies”
On Cycle 2 you can add:

Additional Proteins – Including shellfish and lean cuts of meat
Natural Starches (1 serving = 1/2 cup) – brown rice, bulgur, barley, couscous, cream of wheat, grits, basmati rice, oatmeal, etc…
Legumes (1 serving = 1/2 cup) – black beans, butter beans, garbanzo, northern, kidney, lima, navy, pinto and soy beans, lentils, peas, etc… Read the Rest of the Review

I’m a 24-year-old female that has always had trouble with weight loss. Part of it is due to hormones, part of it is due to lack of discipline to exercise and eat right. I got married June 13, 2009, and was a size 10/12, which is decent sized for my height. So here I am, not even two years later, and I’ve gained 42 pounds. I was getting fed up with buying plus size clothing and having health scares (high blood pressure/borderline diabetes, etc), and also fed up with starting exercises and diets and falling off the wagon within a week. I started the diet 4/18/2011. I wasn’t exactly sure if I could do it, or stick to it, when I first started, but I was excited. I pretty much followed the food list from the book, and applied it to the worksheets provided in the book. I have to admit, I did cheat the first day. Read the Rest of the Review
